First off, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, but as Quake: The Offering doesn't seem to have its own support forum yet (that I'VE been able to find, anyway) I'm posting it here.
In-game, the Quake video options menu says I need to set screen resolution from the command line. Right-clicking GL Quake, going to properties and changing what I THOUGHT was the command line only changed GL Quake's name. So where *is* this command line and how do I set it? Is it just the default Windows 'run' command?

But anyways, if you are using Galaxy, hit the more button next to the play button on Quake. Hit the nGlide settings button, and then set the aspect ratio to 4:3 (Quake shouldn't be played in 16:9 tbh) and change the resolution to your native resolution. This should put the game in your resolution.

Bigger_C: First off, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, but as Quake: The Offering doesn't seem to have its own support forum yet (that I'VE been able to find, anyway) I'm posting it here. The Quake forums are here, for future reference.In-game, the Quake video options menu says I need to set screen resolution from the command line. Right-clicking GL Quake, going to properties and changing what I THOUGHT was the command line only changed GL Quake's name. So where *is* this command line and how do I set it? Is it just the default Windows 'run' command? If you haven't removed or renamed the opengl.32.dll file present in the same directory, then you need to use nglide_config.exe to change the game's resolution, since Quake is outputting to that specified resolution. See here for more information. If you have removed/renamed the OpenGL32.dll file, then you can use the command line (CMD) on Windows. Navigate to the Quake game directory via CMD, then type the following (without quotes): 'glquake.exe -width 1024 -height 768 -bpp 32' and see if it launches. See QuakeCMD.png for an image for what I mean. Alternatively, you can open the properties of the Launch Quake shortcut (right click>properties), then enter in the following as shown in the Quakeshort.png image. However, doing the two command arguments as listed above may cause the game to crash on start if you have not updated your GLQuake (it does for me). Consider checking the above forum link for more info on alternative Quake ports that are much more convenient to use. Also check out the forum on ways to set up the music properly.

Apparently I need a new glasses prescription if I couldn't find that forum. (On that note, I find GOG's site a little hard to navigate, but that's a kvetch for another day.)
Thanks to you both! Also, MREWhite, is there a technical problem with running Quake in 16:9, or does it just look ugly?

Done that before, too many bells and whistles for me---spent more time setting up graphics options than playing the game. Thanks, though.

Darkplaces makes you jump higher, I just use vanilla and it's just like i'm playing on my Voodoo 1.
And the game is made to be played in 4:3, not 16:9.

Firstly, apologies for the necro. Thanks to you both! Also, MREWhite, is there a technical problem with running Quake in 16:9, or does it just look ugly? ![]() I have just purchased Quake and cannot get a decent resolution to work. Can this be played in 1920x1080p? Or, can it be played full screen in a lower resolution(without the horrid thick borders)? I have already tried what barjac suggested but I still have a fat ugly border around the screen. With that thick border the game has a smaller screen size than when I played this in the 90s.

Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 is required for this application. Most people should already have what is needed to run this application, so try running it first. If it won' t="" run="" download="" and="" install="" visual="" c++="" here:="" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=""> This is my attempt at making an easy to use Remote Console Program for Quake Live.QuakeLiveRcon_x64_*.*.*.*.zip is for Windows 64 bit systems.QuakeLiveRcon_x86_*.*.*.*.zip is for Windows 32 bit systems. Download the desired QuakeLiveRcon_x**_*.*.*.*.zip and put the 2 files into the same folder.I put mine in my Quake Live baseq3 and made a shortcut on my desktop. The QuakeLiveRcon.exe is the file I made, the libzmq.dll is the communications protocol 0mqthat Quake Live Servers use. It can be found at: http://www.zeromq.orgThe Newtonsoft.Json.dll file is for parsing some information from the server, the file can be downloaded at: https://www.newtonsoft.com/json When you run the program you will have to add servers to it. Click on 'Edit Servers'and enter your servers. When servers are save a file named QuakeLiveServers.ini will becreated in the folder housing the QuakeLiveRcon.exe. Edit Server fields explained:
After saving all the servers you want saved, close the 'Edit Servers' window and you will see the serversare now available to select in the main window. Select a server and click connect. Once it has registered with the server you are free to send commands to the server.Enter the commands on the command entry line and hit enter to send. The Up/Down arrows will scroll through the last 10 commands sent so they can be resent without having to type them again. This will be different for each server tab. Settings: (Settings here will apply to all servers)Clicking the Settings button will bring up the settings window. This window shows the current version of the program and has a link to the Github website where the file is avaiable. -The 'send status Command on Connect to each server' option will send a status command automatically when sucessful server registration is completed. The server output will display the special characters you see used by players in the server and will display color when Quake Style color coding is sent by the server. The program will connect to up-to 20 servers at the same time. I hope this works well for everyone. I will post new versions here as I make them. Tasta stratology 320 kbps full. Let me know of any bugs or feature requests.
